We are seeking a motivated full-time Structural Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join our Structural Engineering team in Vancouver, B.C. The position offers an excellent opportunity for a candidate with a varied background that includes both technical skills and construction experience. If you are our newest Structural Engineer-in-Training (EIT), you possess the following knowledge, qualifications, and skills:
Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering Technology.
Must be registered or eligible for registration as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC).
Working knowledge of the BC Building Code (2012 and 2018).
Structural design experience in concrete or concrete and steel mixed, structural steel, and timber structures.
Proficient in using structural analysis in programs such as SAP.
Additional knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit Structure, SAFE and ETABS, and S-Concrete is not mandatory but would be an asset. We are willing to provide in-office training.
Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
Fast learner who can communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to coordinate with internal staff and clients.
A positive team player with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks, priorities, and deliverables, with minimal supervision.
Willingness to learn on the job, ask questions, and assume responsibility.
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Prepare design calculations and design details for concrete, steel, and timber design.
Establish structural analysis models using applicable software.
Coordinate with other engineering disciplines.
Coordinate the work with draftspersons.
Conducting field reviews.
Reviewing shop drawings and contractor Requests for Information.
